Nigeria to Host Global Forum on Peacebuilding, Climate Adaptation, May 5–7, 2026
Nigeria will co-host a three-day global Peer Learning Forum on Peacebuilding and National Adaptation Plan (NAP) Processes with the NAP Global Network from May 5–7 at the Abuja Continental Hotel.
The Forum will convene experts and policymakers to discuss peacebuilding challenges and opportunities within national and subnational adaptation planning, with a focus on regions affected by fragility and violent conflict.
The opening ceremony is scheduled for Monday, May 5, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:15 a.m.
Objectives include discussing NAP implementation in fragile regions, aligning adaptation with peacebuilding agendas, showcasing adaptation measures with peacebuilding co-benefits, and enabling technical peer-to-peer exchanges.
According to a statement by Haruna Ibrahim, Director of Information at the Ministry of Environment, participants will include representatives from African NAP teams and Ministries of Environment, Security, and Peacebuilding.
