    Women Affairs Minister Congratulates First Lady  on “Soniyanko Nupe” Chieftaincy Title

    The Honourable Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Hon. Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, has congratulated Her Excellency, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, on the conferment of the chieftaincy title “Soniyanko Nupe” by His Royal Highness, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar, the Etsu Nupe and Chairman, Niger State Council of Traditional Rulers.

    In a statement issued Saturday in Abuja, the Minister described the honour as “richly deserved and deeply symbolic,” reflecting the First Lady’s impact through compassionate, people-centred leadership and unwavering commitment to humanitarian service, social inclusion, and support for victims of insecurity, displacement, and natural disasters.

    She noted that Senator Tinubu’s timely interventions in communities affected by flooding and other emergencies in Niger State and across the country demonstrate exceptional dedication to national service.

    “On behalf of Nigerian women, children, families, and vulnerable groups, I acknowledge with profound appreciation the far-reaching impact of Her Excellency’s engagements nationwide,” Sulaiman-Ibrahim said. “Through strategic initiatives and direct interventions, she continues to empower communities, strengthen family structures, restore hope to the vulnerable, and advance a culture of care, dignity, and shared prosperity.”

    The Minister said the conferment comes at a defining moment as the Ministry prepares for the _Power of 10 Million Mega Empowerment and Rally_, themed _“One Voice, One Movement, One Choice.”_ She noted that the honour reinforces the need for unity, national cohesion, and collective support for the visionary leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to consolidate gains of the Renewed Hope Agenda, sustain reforms, deepen social investments, and secure a stronger future for women, families, and vulnerable populations.

    “The title ‘Soniyanko Nupe’ is more than ceremonial. It is a profound recognition of service, compassion, influence, and responsibility — a fitting tribute to a First Lady whose life of impact continues to unite people, mobilize communities, and strengthen the social fabric of our nation,” the Minister added.

    She prayed that the honour would further inspire the First Lady to greater service to Nigeria and humanity.
