The Honourable Minister of State for Works, Rt. Hon. Bello Goronyo, has received stakeholders from the seven North-West states and inaugurated a new political support platform, Bello Muhammad Goronyo (BMG) Associates for Asiwaju/Shettima 2027
The event took place on Wednesday, September 10, 2026 in Abuja. The delegation, led by Dr. Haris Jibril, presented the organisation to the Minister and formally requested him to serve as its National Convener and Leader. They also sought approval to use his initials, BMG, as the group’s acronym.
According to the delegation, the group was conceived to create a disciplined and coordinated platform for grassroots mobilisation, civic engagement, and communication of the achievements of the Tinubu administration ahead of the 2027 general elections.
They cited Minister Goronyo’s experience as Director of Youth Mobilisation for the North-West in the 2023 Presidential Campaign Council and as former Zonal Secretary of the North-West APC as key reasons for choosing him to lead.
“The organisation will promote the policies and programmes of the Renewed Hope Agenda, while focusing on youth and women inclusion, responsible political participation, and effective communication of government interventions,” the delegation stated.
The proposed structure will have State Coordinators in all seven North-West states, with officials covering youth mobilisation, women mobilisation, organisation, and communication across the three senatorial districts of each state.
A statement signed by the Special Assistant on Media to the Honourable Minister of State for Works, Abdullahi Mohammed, disclosed that s Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) was also presented to guide the group on discipline, loyalty, accountability, teamwork, and respect for party leadership.
Responding, Minister Goronyo commended the initiative and accepted the responsibility. He pledged to provide strategic direction to ensure the group delivers on its mandate across the North-West.
“As the Secretary of the Support Groups of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the Presidential Campaign Council, we will continue to work with you, mobilise Nigerians and engage our people constructively towards ensuring the successful return of our dear President, President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in 2027, Insha Allah,” he said.
The Minister stressed that mobilisation must be done with respect, discipline, and a clear understanding of the people’s concerns.
Goronyo used the occasion to highlight key interventions of the Tinubu administration, particularly in infrastructure.
He listed major projects to include: Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, Sokoto-Badagry Superhighway, Trans-Saharan Corridor,
Akwanga-Jos-Bauchi-Gombe-Yola Corridor,
Abuja-Kaduna-Zaria-Kano Road
He noted that the administration is also investing in railway development to improve movement of goods and people, boost trade, reduce travel time, and strengthen national integration.
The Minister charged BMG Associates to build a strong grassroots network that will effectively communicate government policies, promote unity, and encourage peaceful political engagement.
He concluded with prayers for peace, unity, stability, and prosperity for Nigeria.
