The Honourable Minister of State for Works, Rt. Hon. Bello Goronyo, has inaugurated the National and State Executive members of Bello Muhammad Goronyo (BMG) Associates for Asiwaju/Shettima 2027.
The support group was established to promote grassroots engagement, strengthen stakeholder participation and coordinate political activities across the seven North-West states ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The inauguration and reception ceremony held on Thursday, October 1, 2026, at Syde Resort, Raba Road, Kaduna.
Speaking at the event, the Minister commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for prioritizing infrastructure development as a driver of economic growth and national integration.
He cited landmark projects being undertaken by the administration, including the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, Sokoto-Badagry Superhighway, Calabar-Abuja/Trans-Saharan Corridor, Akwanga-Jos-Bauchi-Gombe corridor, and the Abuja-Kaduna-Zaria-Kano and Zaria-Gusau-Sokoto corridors.
According to him, the projects are part of a broader Federal Government agenda to improve connectivity, facilitate trade, open up economic opportunities and strengthen national unity.
Goronyo also highlighted progress in the rail sector, including the Kaduna-Kano rail project and Kano City Rail Service, alongside social intervention programmes such as the student loan scheme, as evidence of the administration’s commitment to transportation, education and economic empowerment.
On the political outlook for 2027, the Minister called for unity, peaceful coexistence and responsible political engagement. He said in the interest of continuity and stability, President Tinubu should be allowed to complete his second term, noting that the North had its turn under former President Muhammadu Buhari.
As part of his support for the new structures, the Minister presented eight Toyota vehicles to the organisation — one for each of the seven North-West state chapters and one for the National Executive — to facilitate operational activities, coordination and grassroots engagement.
In his opening remarks, the Secretary-General and Director of Strategy and Communication of BMG Associates, Engr. Harisu H. M.
