Multiple protests are currently being staged across all 36 federation states, including the Federal Capital Territory.
Reports emerged early on Thursday that police forces in Abuja deployed teargas against protesters. Despite this, Nigerians from every corner of the country have shown tenacity to persist with their demonstrations.
The scale and intensity of Thursday’s protests are being compared to the historic #EndSARS movement of October 2020. To some, this impassioned revolt is unlike anything ever experienced in the country.
Below are some of the best actions as Nigerians unite once again to send a clear message to the Nigerian government: End bad governance in Nigeria.
The Hunger in Nigerian Households
An unidentified woman took an empty pot along with her to the #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria protest at Kudirat Abiola Way, Ikeja, Lagos, a symbolic image that represented the towering height of food inflation in the country and the pervasion hunger that has ravaged several Nigerian households within the last 12 months.

Naked Protester — Hunger will Make you Lose your Mind
A middle-aged man went naked in Ojota, Lagos, on Thursday morning during the protest for roughly five minutes to express the vulnerability of the average Nigerian in the Tinubu administration.
Several Nigerians have now reacted to the viral media, mostly expressing sadness at the country’s state of affairs.
“We are already naked. The country is naked. They have drained us,” said Olufunke Cherish on X.
Another user said “Poverty will make you lose your mind. You will do things others will question. Imagine the government, which is supposed to protect and lift people out of poverty, is the one causing the hardship. How can someone survive without jobs and inflation is biting? The man has lost it all like many others.”
Another user @olububmifadiora, reacted to the video saying, “This really captures the deep vulnerability and frustration many Nigerians are feeling right now. It’s a serious wake-up call that things need to change in this country.”
Police and Protesters Clash on Abuja-Keffi Road
Reports have emerged from Abuja that protesters have blocked the Abuja-Keffi Expressway in Abuja following a clash between protesters and the police on Thursday morning.
The protesters have also set up bonfires on the road, forcing vehicles away and shutting down any business activity within the area.
Protest Turns Violent in Kano, Police Shoot at Protesters
Thursday’s protest in Kano state saw Police fire shots at protesters, in response to reports of looting at the yet-to-be-commissioned Nigeria Communication Commission (NCC) industrial park in Kano, along with other incidents of vandalism across the state.
Video evidence captured protesters urgently seeking safety as shots were repeatedly fired from a distance.
