    Tinubu Promises to Enhance Food Security and Address Hunger

    President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has assured Nigerians that his administration is taking concrete steps to address food security and reduce hunger.

    In an address to the nation on Sunday morning, President Tinubu provided the assurance and disclosed that he has been meeting with governors and important ministers to speed up food production, with a goal of cultivating over 10 million hectares of land to grow vital food crops.

    The president declared that in order to create jobs for millions of people and boost food production, the federal government would supply the required incentives and the states would supply the land.

    In order to increase agricultural productivity, he also revealed that his administration had ordered mechanized farming equipment worth billions of Naira from Belarus, Brazil, and the United States, including tractors and planters.

    By confirming that the equipment is en route to Nigeria, he showed his dedication to combating food insecurity and guaranteeing that Nigerians have access to reasonably priced and wholesome food.

    According to him, this comes with a target to cultivate over 10 million hectares of land to grow essential food crops.

    Tinubu stated: “Our target is to cultivate more than 10 million hectares of land to grow what we eat.

    “The Federal Government will provide all necessary incentives for this initiative, whilst the states provide the land, which will put millions of our people to work and further increase food production.”

    The Nigerian leader also averred that the Federal Government would provide necessary incentives, while states of the Federation would provide land in move to put millions of Nigerians to work and increase food production in the West African country.

    The President equally said that his administration had ordered mechanised farming equipment, including tractors and planters, worth billions of Naira as part of measures at enhancing agricultural productivity in Nigeria.

    “We have also ordered mechanised farming equipment such as tractors and planters, worth billions of Naira from the United States, Belarus, and Brazil. I can confirm to you that the equipment is on the way,” he stated.
