APC Receives 500 Defectors In Abia

Over 500 individuals have switched their allegiance to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abia State.

This mass defection includes members from various parties such as the Labour Party (LP), People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Young People’s Party (YPP), and All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).

The announcement was made during the ongoing tour of Bende Federal Constituency by the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Okezie Kalu.

Kalu’s visits, aimed at showing gratitude and assessing local needs, have so far covered five wards, including Item Ward A, B, C; Ugwueke/Ezeukwu, and Itumbauzo. During these visits, over 400 people officially joined the APC.

Notably, former PDP councillors and key figures from other parties also defected.

The recent visit to Alayi Ward saw over 100 new defections from the PDP, APGA, LP, and YPP. The trend continued at Umuhu Ezechi Ward, where more than 100 people announced their move to the APC.

Kalu emphasized his commitment to bringing development to the constituency, highlighting the South East Development Commission (SEDC) bill, recently signed into law by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

His visits also included the distribution of rice, fertilizers, and cash donations to support local agriculture and livelihoods.
