    Tinubu’s Reforms are aimed at correcting past mistakes for a Better Future

    Information and National Orientation Minister, Mohammed Idris has emphasized that President Bola Tinubu’s administration is focused on rectifying historical policy errors and dysfunctional choices that have hindered Nigeria’s progress.

    Idris stated that Tinubu’s bold solutions aim to drive sustainable growth, improve citizens’ quality of life, and address challenges such as poverty, unemployment, and insecurity.

    The minister highlighted that the fuel subsidy removal and foreign exchange rate harmonization, though painful, were necessary decisions to redirect funds towards critical sectors like healthcare, education, and infrastructure.

    Idris made this known while briefing the Diplomatic Community on the nationwide protest on Wednesday in Abuja.

    Idris said: “Tinubu is addressing the poor policies and dysfunctional choices with bold and effective solutions, and not to impose hardship on Nigerians but to

    “ Tinubu is determined to implement reforms that would drive sustainable growth and improve the quality of life for all citizens, stressing that the current challenges are only temporary.

    “It is important to kick off on this note: that President Tinubu did not come to office to cause hardship or make life difficult for Nigerians.

    “He has come to office with bold solutions to historical problems; with the determination to correct many of the poor policies and dysfunctional choices that have held us back as a nation for decades.

    The Minister acknowledged the transitional pains but assured that comprehensive intervention programs are being implemented to cushion the effects.

    Regarding the nationwide protests, Idris emphasized the government’s respect for peaceful assembly and freedom of expression, while condemning the violent activities that led to loss of lives and property damage.

    The minister assured that investigations are underway to identify and bring to justice those responsible for the violence, and measures are being taken to prevent future occurrences.
