Chelsea Football Club has secured the signing of talented young defender Aaron Anselmino from Boca Juniors, with the 19-year-old penning a seven-year contract at Stamford Bridge.
In a strategic move, Anselmino will spend the 2024/25 season on loan at Boca Juniors, allowing him to continue his development in his native Argentina.
Chelsea will closely monitor and support Anselmino’s progress, having beaten off competition to sign the highly-rated centre-back.
Anselmino has already made a significant impact at Boca Juniors, making his first-team debut at just 12 years old and scoring his first senior goal in the Copa Sudamericana group stage.
“Aaron spent time in the youth ranks of Juventud Unida and Sportivo Realico before joining Boca at the age of 12.
“He signed his first professional contract with the club on 10 June 2023, and was handed his first-team debut against Lanus on the same day.
“The centre-back has gone on to make nine further appearances for Boca and scored his first senior goal for the club in April, a winner in the Copa Sudamericana group stage against Trinidense.
Chelsea welcomes Anselmino to the club and wishes him the best of luck during his loan spell.
