    NAF Strikes Terrorist hideout, Annihilates Bomb factory in Borno

    The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has launched a successful aerial assault on a terrorist hideouts in Borno, destroying a bomb factory and neutralizing armed insurgents.

     

    According to AVM Edward Gabkwet, Director of Public Relations and Information, the air strikes were conducted on August 2, following intelligence reports of a suspected IED Improvised Explosive Devices factory and storage area in Grazah, Mandara Hills.

     

    The NAF targeted the location, which had been under surveillance for weeks, and effectively destroyed the IED factory, gun trucks, and neutralized the terrorists.

     

    According to him, for some time now, this IED factory was suspected to have been relocated, first from Gwoza to Timbuktu Triangle in Sambisa Forest and finally berthing at Grazah in the Mandara Hills.

     

    He said, “Frequent relocation of IED factories has been attributed to the enormous fire power on the terrorists’ enclaves by the combined efforts of the entire security apparatus of the theatre of operation.

     

    “The IED factory location at Grazah had been under surveillance for weeks with various installations observed and activities of armed terrorists in the area found to be consistent with those protecting a strategic location.

     

    The air interdiction was a response to recent attacks on innocent civilians using IEDs and suicide bombers, and marks a significant blow to terrorist operations in the region.

     

    The NAF’s swift and decisive action demonstrates its commitment to protecting Nigerian citizens and combating terrorism in the country.
