A fatal incident on the Enugu-Aba-Port Harcourt Expressway in Abia State claimed the lives of eleven passengers aboard a commercial bus.
The incident took place on Sunday near the Apu Na Ekpu/Egbelu Mbutu area when the bus collided with a stationary truck.
The crash left the bus driver as the sole survivor.
While specific details surrounding the accident remain uncertain, eyewitnesses believe that the driver might have dozed off while driving, leading to the tragic collision.
Despite the immediate severity of the situation, all eleven victims perished before help could reach them.
Attempts to reach the state’s public relations officer, Maureen Chinaka, for official comments were unsuccessful.
However, the bodies of the deceased have since been transported to the mortuary.
