Food Inflation Decline: Prices of Yam, Tomatoes Falling, Says Tinubu’s Aide

Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser on Information and Strategy to President Bola Tinubu, has highlighted a significant decline in food inflation.

Onanuga reported that the prices of yam, tomatoes, and other food items are dropping substantially.

In a post on X, Onanuga stated, “Food inflation is decreasing as prices for yam and tomatoes have seen a significant drop.”

This update follows a recent report indicating a decrease in tomato prices.

A large basket of tomatoes in Ketu market is now priced between 55,000 and 60,000 naira, down from approximately 150,000 naira a few months ago.

Similarly, the cost of a large basket of habanero peppers has fallen to around 25,000 naira from 55,000 naira during the peak of the price hike.
