Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the governor of Lagos State, hosted Akinwunmi Ambode, his predecessor, at the State House in Lagos on Monday.
This was revealed in a post on X.com by Gboyega Akosile, the Special Advisor to the Governor on Media and Publicity, who said that during the courtesy visit, the two leaders had lengthy conversations focused on the development and future of Lagos State.
Akosile wrote, “Today, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu received his predecessor in office, HE Akinwunmi Ambode, who came on a courtesy visit.
“The two leaders held a deep conversation around the development of Lagos State, her economic trajectory, and position as a socio-political stabiliser in the subregion.
“Mr. Governor continues to receive support and encouragement from well-meaning Lagosians and Nigerians on the way he’s been handling the different vertical of development, including security, economy, culture and tourism.”
The two had first connected at Sanwo-Olu’s 60th birthday celebration in Lagos in June.
Ambode and former governor Babatunde Fashola joined Sanwo-Olu at a Lagos reception held in honor of President Bola Tinubu that same month.
It was the first time all four of the state’s governors have been spotted together at a public event since Ambode departed office in 2019.
