    In a landmark event, President Bola Tinubu is chairing the inaugural meeting of the Council of State at the Aso Rock Villa, Abuja, with former Presidents Goodluck Jonathan and Muhammadu Buhari in attendance.

     

    Former Heads of State, General Yakubu Gowon and General Abdulsalami Abubakar, joined virtually, alongside governors of Abia, Adamawa, and Akwa Ibom State. The meeting kicked off at 12:35 pm with a ceremonial opening, featuring the national anthem and pledge.

     

    Tinubu and his predecessors are tackling seven critical issues,

     

    They include the Nationwide Protest as it Affects National Security and the State of the Economy, and in the agricultural sector, they will discuss Food Security, Availability, and Affordability.

     

    The President will also make presentations on Consolidating the Gains in the Solid Minerals Sector, Renewed Hope in Budgeting and Planning for Sustained Development, Renewed Hope in the Road Sector, and leading a Strong Industrial Base for Transformation and Growth.

     

    It was gathered that the relevant ministers for each sector would make presentations on the President’s behalf.

     

    Relevant ministers will present on the President’s behalf, providing expert insights on each sector.

     

    The National Security Adviser, Minister of Agriculture, Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Minister of Works, and Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment will brief the council.

     

    The National Council of State plays a vital advisory role in guiding the President on policy-making, national security, appointments, and economic policies.

     

    This historic gathering marks a significant milestone in collaborative governance and inclusive decision-making.
