Price of Petrol Skyrockets In Kano

The price of petrol has surged in Kano, now ranging between N900 and N950 per litre.

This increase follows the recent nationwide #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria protest and has led to a doubling of fares for commercial tricycles in the city’s metropolitan areas.

Many filling stations in Kano have shut down, and those that remain open are experiencing long queues.

Prior to the protest, prices at these stations were between N780 and N850 per litre, but they have now risen significantly.

Black market operators have also increased their prices, with petrol now selling for between N1,100 and N1,200 per litre, depending on the area.
