Vice President Kashim Shettima has urged Nigerians to support President Bola Tinubu as he tackles the nation’s socio-political, economic, and security issues.
Speaking in Abuja during the launch of a book by Prof. Modupe Adelabu, Shettima emphasized that President Tinubu is committed to making a lasting positive impact, despite the challenges inherited from previous administrations.
During his remarks, Shettima downplayed the significance of President Tinubu’s residence in Bourdillon, Lagos, comparing it unfavorably to his own home in Maiduguri.
He highlighted Tinubu’s modesty, noting that the President has not indulged in extravagant living despite his position.
Shettima also addressed the difficult but necessary decisions being made to stabilize the economy, expressing confidence that the benefits will soon be evident.
He reassured the public that the current challenges, including those affecting food security and the currency, are being addressed and urged collective support for the administration.
Furthermore, Shettima expressed concern about the neglect of basic education in northern Nigeria, particularly the involvement of underage children in recent protests, which he linked to a breakdown in family values.
He called for efforts to restore the family unit and improve the educational system in the region.
