Kano’s Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has appointed retired Major-General Muhammad Inuwa Idris as the commissioner for the newly established Ministry of Home Affairs and Internal Security.
This appointment follows the governor’s recent inauguration of the new boards for Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology, Wudil, Yusuf Maitama Sule University, and Kano State Polytechnic.
The ministry, which was formed approximately five months ago, had been operating without a commissioner until this recent appointment.
Governor Yusuf has urged the new commissioner and other appointees to demonstrate competence and efficiency in their roles, emphasizing the importance of proactive governance to foster significant growth.
The primary objective of the new ministry will be to tackle internal security issues in Kano and to ensure local government efforts align with the governor’s vision for a peaceful and prosperous state.
