President Bola Tinubu has extended his congratulations to Nigeria’s former head of state, Gen. Ibrahim Babangida, on the occasion of his 83rd birthday.
Chief Ajuri Ngelale, the President’s Special Advisor on Media and Publicity, made this announcement on Saturday in Abuja.
He took note of Babangida’s efforts to advance national development, particularly in the areas of infrastructure and other areas.
The Third Mainland Bridge was the longest bridge in Africa at the time, and Tinubu praised the celebrant’s efforts in seeing it through to completion.
“The President acknowledges the role of General Babangida in the sculpting of modern Nigeria, and commends him for his services to the nation.
“President Tinubu wishes the former head of state many more years in good health,” said Ngelale.
From 1985 until 1993, Babangida, also known as IBB, led the Nigerian military as president.
