WAEC Opens Portals for 2025 WASSCE School Recognition

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has launched its online portals for school recognition and the submission of Continuous Assessment Scores (CASS) in preparation for the 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).

Schools planning to register candidates for the 2025 WASSCE are required to finalize their recognition and upload the necessary CASS information within the specified deadlines.

On Monday, WAEC’s Head of Exams for the Branch Controller, Mr. A. Adebolu, notified school principals about the availability of the portals.

The online recognition portal will be open for new schools from September 2 to December 13, 2024. Schools aiming to participate in the 2025 WASSCE must complete their application process and make the required payments within this period.

Additionally, the CASS upload portal will be available from September 2 to December 20, 2024. Schools are advised to submit their CASS 1 & 2 data before the deadline, as the portal will close at midnight on the specified dates. Late submissions will not be accepted.

This development comes after the release of the 2024/25 WAEC results, which revealed that 72.9% of the 1,805,216 candidates achieved credits in five subjects, including Mathematics and English language.

However, there was a 7.6% decline in overall performance compared to the previous year, with 215,267 results withheld due to examination malpractice.

As the 2025 WASSCE draws near, WAEC has stressed the importance of meeting the deadlines to facilitate a smooth examination process.
