The Lagos State government has arrested 20 individuals caught engaging in open defecation.
Tokunbo Wahab, the state commissioner of environment and water resources, declared the crackdown on X.com on Sunday.
“Open Defecation, During patrol and monitoring of Ojodu – Berger yesterday night and early hours of today, operatives of the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps #LAGESCOfficial arrested 20 individuals for committing environmental infractions,” he wrote.
The state government is working to keep the environment cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable for its citizens, and one aspect of that work is its zero-tolerance policy on open defecation.
