Kano state is set to host the inaugural Arewa Tech Fest scheduled for September 25-26 2024. This is a groundbreaking technology festival poised to transform the innovation landscape in Northern Nigeria.
Arewa Tech Fest brings together a diverse audience of stakeholders in the digital technology industry, including investors, entrepreneurs, startup founders, students, journalists, policymakers, government officials, and industry professionals.
The festival’s mission is to create a platform that fosters collaboration, showcases cutting-edge technologies, and supports the growth of tech startups in Northern Nigeria.
This pioneering event aims to ignite innovation, inspire tech enthusiasts, and build a thriving ecosystem for technology-driven solutions in the region. This will be achieved through promoting tech innovation, fostering entrepreneurial growth, enhancing digital literacy, attracting investments, showcasing local talents, solving local problems, and deepening learning.
The maiden edition will be convened by former Kaduna State Governor and chairman of Afri-Venture Capital Company, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai CON, and backed by the Kano State Government led by Abba Yusuf. The event promises to bring together a diverse array of tech enthusiasts, entrepreneurs, innovators, investors, and policymakers from across the region and beyond.
Mallam Nasir El-Rufai emphasized the significance of Arewa Tech Fest. He said “Our goal is to inspire and empower the next generation of tech leaders – particularly women and youth, providing them with the tools and resources needed to succeed in a rapidly evolving digital world.”
The festival will feature renowned speakers, including the executive governors of Kano and Katsina States, Emir of Kano Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, President of Afreximbank Benedict Oramah, CEO Outsource Global Amal Hassan and other industry experts, who will share their insights on panels focused on fintech, tech for good, edutech, and more.
