Bournemouth Lands Chelsea’s Kepa on Loan Deal

Bournemouth has secured a major coup by signing Chelsea’s world-record goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga on a season-long loan.

Kepa, 29, expressed his excitement to join the Cherries, citing his familiarity with manager Andoni Iraola as a key factor. He’s ready to play in front of the fans and hopes to win silverwares.

“I know Andoni Iraola well, so of course that was a big reason for coming here, he spoke very well about everything here,” Kepa, who played with Bournemouth boss Iraola at Bilbao, told the club’s Youtube channel.

“I am so ready to be here and play in front of our fans.

“Hopefully we can win something and it could be a great year.”

Before the loan move, Kepa extended his Chelsea contract by a year, preventing a potential free transfer exit. He spent last season on loan at Real Madrid, winning La Liga and the Champions League.

Cherries chief executive Neill Blake welcomed Kepa’s addition, believing he’ll be an exciting asset to the goalkeeping department.
