Edun Pledges Improved Welfare for Finance Ministry Staff, Urges Higher Productivity
The Honourable Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun, has assured the workforce of the Federal Ministry of Finance of enhanced welfare services while urging them to boost their productivity in line with the government’s economic agenda.
During a courtesy visit by the Ministry’s Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria (ASCSN) and Joint Union Council (JUC) in Abuja, Mr. Edun emphasized the ministry’s commitment to creating a conducive work environment that would enable staff to implement the Federal Government’s policies and programs effectively. He underscored the importance of civil servants in achieving the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda, aimed at revitalizing the economy.
Edun charged the ministry’s workforce to collaborate closely to ensure the delivery of key policy objectives, which he said are crucial for Nigeria’s economic growth. He assured the union representatives that the government recognizes the critical role of public servants and is determined to provide the resources necessary to support their efforts.
The Chairman of the ASCSN Finance Chapter, Comrade Nuhu Abubakar Bah, commended the Tinubu administration for the recent distribution of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) buses, which he said would help address the challenges posed by the fuel subsidy removal. Bah also praised Edun’s leadership during the event, highlighting the significance of the Presidential Initiative on Compressed Natural Gas (PCNGi) in providing affordable transportation for Nigerians.
The union representatives used the opportunity to call for better working conditions, improved compensation packages, and enhanced opportunities for professional development to boost staff morale. They also expressed their commitment to partnering with the ministry’s management to achieve the government’s economic goals.
The meeting between Edun and the Ministry’s Joint Union Council further highlighted the ministry’s focus on fostering a productive work environment to drive economic development and attract foreign investments.
