Team Nigeria Para-Athletes Shine in Tunisia with 19 Medals, 2nd Place Finish
Nigeria Para-Athletes to the World Para Athletics Grand Prix held in Tunis, Tunisia, have again shone on the world stage with a 2nd Place Finish, clinching 19 medals (10 Gold, 6 Silver, and 3 Bronze)
The Nigerian contingent proved their dominance in track and field events across multiple disability classes in the tournament which held from June 12th to 19th, 2025, featuring 61 countries
At the fiesta, Team Nigeria claimed multiple podium finishes, notably Flora Ugwunwa, Sefiu Ojeley, Alam Ugochi, and Uwak Unyime, lifting the nation’s flag high on the global stage.
According to a statement by the Diirector Information and Public Relations, Mrs Kehinde Ajayi, under the dynamic leadership and unwavering support of the Chairman, National Sports Commission, Mallam Shehu Dikko, and the Director General, Hon. Bukola Olopade, the team, delivered a historic performance that captured the admiration of the global sporting community.
