Israeli National Dies After Sudden Illness at Abuja Hotel
A 73-year-old Israeli national, Mr. Avi Warshaviak, passed away in Abuja on Saturday, June 28, after reportedly developing a sudden health complication while lodging at a hotel in the Garki district of the Federal Capital Territory.
According to reliable sources, the incident occurred at approximately 9:51 a.m. at the Corinthia Villa Hotel, where Mr. Warshaviak was staying with his wife. He was said to have fallen seriously ill and was immediately rushed to Asokoro General Hospital, where he was later confirmed dead.
The hotel’s Chief Security Officer, Mr. Okorie Emmanuel, reported the matter to the Garki Divisional Police Headquarters at about 11:23 a.m.
In response, police officers visited both the hotel and the hospital to conduct preliminary investigations, document the scene, and arrange for the transfer of the deceased’s remains to the hospital morgue, where an autopsy is expected to be conducted.
Police sources confirmed that efforts are currently underway to contact the Israeli Embassy in Nigeria to facilitate consular procedures and further arrangements.
