Security Forces Arrest 13 Illegal Immigrants in Ogun, Hand Them Over to Immigration
Security operatives in Ogun State have apprehended 13 suspected illegal immigrants following a distress call from residents of Unity Estate in the Pakuro area of Mowe.
The arrest, which took place on Tuesday around 11:00 a.m., was prompted by complaints of public disturbance allegedly caused by the foreigners, who are nationals of Cameroon, Togo, and Ivory Coast.
Police sources told Zagazola Makama that the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of the Mowe Division promptly responded to the alert by deploying a team of detectives to the location. The operatives successfully apprehended all 13 suspects without incident.
Following preliminary profiling, the individuals were transferred to the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Ogun State Command in Abeokuta, for further investigation and appropriate action in line with immigration laws.
The state police command has reassured residents of its commitment to maintaining public safety and order, particularly in border communities, through continued collaboration with other security and law enforcement agencies.
