Breaking: Immigration officials seize Senator Natasha’s passport at Abuja Airport
Immigration officials today seized the passport of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport
The event prevented her from boarding a scheduled British Airways flight to London.
The senator, who represents Kogi Central Senatorial District, was reportedly flagged at the immigration checkpoint and told she had been listed as a “national security risk.” with the Officials citing “security orders from above” as justification for withholding her travel documents.
Eyewitnesses report that Senator Natasha, accompanied by her husband, Chief Emmanuel Uduaghan, maintained composure but firmly protested the action, questioning the legal basis for the seizure.
“The court never authorised this. You have no right to hold my passport,” she was heard saying to the immigration officers.
