Tinubu to Confer Presidential Honours on 210 Former NYSC Members
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will confer the prestigious National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Presidential Honours Award on 210 former corps members for their outstanding service to the nation between 2020 and 2023.
This was disclosed in a statement issued by the NYSC Director of Press and Public Relations, Mr. Emeka Rems Mgbemena. According to the statement, the award ceremony is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, July 29, at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Mgbemena revealed that 200 of the honorees were selected for their exemplary performance across the four cardinal programmes of the NYSC scheme: Orientation Course, Primary Assignment, Community Development Service (CDS), and Winding-Up/Passing-Out exercises.
In addition, 10 other ex-corps members who sustained varying degrees of permanent disability while serving the nation will be recognized under the NYSC Hope Alive Initiative, an intervention designed to support injured corps members.
The Presidential NYSC Honours Award remains one of the highest recognitions for national youth service excellence in Nigeria.
