FG To Hold High-Level Dialogue on Power in Health Sector, 09 -10 September 2025
President Tinubu to Attend as Special Guest of Honour
The Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Power, will host a 2-day National Stakeholders’ Dialogue on Power in the Health Sector on Tuesday 09 and Wednesday 10 September 2025 at the State House Banquet Hall, Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The high-level event, themed: Powering Health Through Public-Private Synergy: Energising Nigeria’s Health Sector for the Future, will bring together policymakers, energy experts, healthcare leaders, development partners, and private sector innovators to address the urgent need for sustainable, reliable, and climate-smart energy solutions across Nigeria’s health facilities.
His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, will attend the event as Special Guest of Honour, where a historic Power and Health Compact will be signed reaffirming the government’s commitment to delivering efficient and uninterrupted power to tertiary health institutions.
The event which is in line with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and the health sector’s 4-Point Agenda has the following key objectives:
* Assessing Nigeria’s current power policy environment and its impact on health facilities.
* Showcasing innovative energy solutions including renewables, backup systems, and energy efficiency.
* Strengthening public-private partnerships for sustainable infrastructure development.
* Exploring and promoting innovative financing models, that unlock affordable, renewable, and sustainable electricity solutions for public and private health facilities in Nigeria ensuring energy access that is climate-smart, cost-effective, and aligned with the delivery of essential health services at all levels of care; and
* Developing a collaborative implementation and accountability framework for power interventions across all levels of care.
A statement released by the FMOH’s Head of Information and Public Relations disclosed that the event will also feature a Technology and Innovation Exhibition, where private companies, startups, and energy solution providers are invited to showcase products, services, and models that can enhance power reliability in healthcare settings.
The National Stakeholders’ Dialogue on Power in the Health Sector marks a critical milestone in Nigeria’s path toward building resilient health infrastructure powered by smart energy systems, and reflects the government’s unwavering focus on results, reform, and public trust.
