    Salihu Usman Assumes Duty As PS Environment, calls for collaboration in the Sector

    The new Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Environment, Salihu Aminu Usman, has called for mutual collaboration among staff, agencies and stakeholders within the environment sector so as to ensure the realization of its mandate

    Speaking during his assumption of duty in the office, the Permanent Secretary emphasised that the Ministry cannot operate in isolation, and stressed the need for teamwork, describing it a critical factor in the advancement of the nation’s environmental development issues.

    Segun Mathew on behalf of the Ministry’s Director of Information and Public Relations, Salihu assured the staff of his commitment to building on the solid foundation laid by his predecessor, with a focus on enhancing staff development and welfare as well as promoting professionalism

    In his opening remarks, the outgoing Permanent Secretary, Mahmud Kambari, stated that the Ministry is blessed with capable and experienced personnel, urging them to give their support to his successor

    Kambari thanked the Management and staff for their support during his tenure, describing
    them as a competent, reliable, and hardworking team.

    While describing the new Permanent Secretary as an administrator with high pedigree and amiable character, he called on the staff to replicate the same level of commitment to him in order to maintain continuity and sustainable progress.

    Kambari also appreciated the Minister of Environment, Balarabe Abbas Lawal, acknowledging him as a great leader and mentor

    In her vote of thanks, the Director, Special Duties, Mrs. Adenopo on behalf of the management and staff thanked the Almighty God who orchestrated the coming of the outgoing Permanent Secretary to the Federal Ministry of Environment at such a time the Ministry needed to chart a better course of management.

    She appreciated the outgoing Permanent Secretary for his mentorship, steadfast leadership, and unwavering dedication.

    “You have laid a solid foundation and achieved significant milestones that brought the Ministry into the limelight. Your high standard of professionalism and caring attitude permeates the Departments and Agencies of the Ministry. Thank you for being more than a boss,” she stated.

    She welcomed the incoming Permanent Secretary to the Green environment and pledged the Ministry’s readiness to continue the progressive journey with him.

    “We are confident you will build upon the existing successes, work together as a family as you guide us to greater heights,” she added
