The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mr. Olumuyiwa Enitan Abel, has inaugurated a nine-member Pilot Implementation Committee for the Renewed Hope Mass 6uTransit Bus Scheme for Federal Civil Servants.
Speaking at the inauguration in Abuja on Wednesday, 9 September 2026, the HCSF said the inauguration followed the commissioning of 100 electric buses on 26 August 2026 under the Renewed Hope Transit Programme.
He disclosed that the pilot phase would commence with 10 electric buses operating on selected routes ahead of full deployment, and charged the Committee to ensure a seamless, transparent and accountable take-off.
“This is a practical demonstration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s commitment to workers’ welfare, to reduce transportation costs and create an enabling environment for enhanced productivity,” he said.
The HCSF tasked the Committee to develop the implementation framework, identify suitable routes, establish a transparent enrolment and payment system, recommend affordable fares, and ensure safety, security and accessibility for all users including persons living with disabilities.
He appreciated the Director-General of NADDC, Otunba Oluwemimo Osanipin, for collaboration and expressed confidence the pilot would provide experience to refine the scheme.
A statement by OHCSF’s Director of Press and Public Relations, Mrs. Eno Olotu disclosed that
the Committee is chaired by the Permanent Secretary, Service Welfare Office, Dr. Abdul Sule Garba, with Mr. Nura Umar of NADDC as Co-Chair.
Other members of the Committee are Arc. Joy Baderin, Director, IMD; Mr Emmanuel Agodi, Deputy Director, EIR; Mr. Gbenga Olowoyo, Representative of JNPSNC; Mrs Joke Onireti, NADDC; Mr. Bright Idehenre, Renewed Hope Infrastructure Development Fund; and Mrs Bimbo Ayere, NADDC , while Mrs. Chinyere Nwosu, CAO, EIR, serves as Member/Secretary
Responding on behalf of the Committee, Dr. Garba thanked the HCSF and pledged the Committee’s commitment to deliver an efficient and sustainable transportation system for civil servants.
