TCN Begins Rehabilitation of Four Vandalized Towers on Afam-Elelenwo Line
The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has commenced rehabilitation of four vandalized towers along the Afam-IPP – Elelenwo 132kV double-circuit transmission line.
TCN disclosed that the incident was discovered on August 6, 2026, by its lines engineers from the Port Harcourt Region. Towers T50 to T53 were affected, with their members removed and carted away by vandals.
The company said this is the fifth vandalism attack on the same line in recent times.
“As rehabilitation work progresses, we enjoin all stakeholders to join hands to curb the menace that is threatening the stability of the national grid,” TCN management said in a statement on Sunday.
