Police in Abuja deployed tear gas against protesters at the Federal Secretariat in the Federal Capital Territory.
Despite police instructions to relocate the protest to the M.K.O Abiola Stadium, demonstrators continued their rally in the area.
As the tear gas was released, bystanders sought shelter to avoid the dispersal efforts.
According to reports the FCT Police Commissioner Benneth Igwe and his team were present in the vicinity before the tear gas was used.
Earlier, Commissioner Igwe had warned that failure to move the protest to the designated stadium area would result in consequences.
