The Nigerian Police Force has announced the recovery of looted items following the unrest in Kano State.
At approximately 10:00 AM today, groups of hoodlums, posing as participants in the nationwide protest, attacked various establishments across the state.
These disturbances led to significant property damage and theft, prompting immediate action from the Kano State Police Command.
The affected areas included several supermarkets in Nassarawa Quarters, which experienced substantial damage and theft, and the NCC office at Audu Bako Secretariat, where multiple vehicles were set on fire. The blaze has been controlled thanks to prompt intervention.
Authorities have arrested 157 suspects linked to the criminal activities.
Additionally, an AK-47 rifle was recovered from the High Court, and a large quantity of looted items was retrieved from the suspects.
In response to the unrest, the Kano State Government has imposed a 24-hour curfew to restore order and ensure public safety.
The situation remains under close observation, with the Kano State Police Command dedicated to maintaining peace and security in the region.
