#Endbadgovernanceprotest: Ogun Government Denies Calling Nigerians Losers

The Ogun State government dismissed allegations that Governor Dapo Abiodun labeled Nigerians as sore losers in relation to the ongoing #EndBadGovernance protest.

According to the government, the governor’s comments were specifically about certain individuals who lost the 2023 elections and are now exploiting the youth’s discontent to destabilize the nation.

The government clarified that in an interview with Channels TV, Governor Abiodun did not imply that ordinary Nigerians airing their frustrations about the economic situation were sore losers.

Instead, the governor expressed high regard for Nigerian youths, students, and workers.

The Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Publicity, Hon. Kayode Akinmade, issued a statement emphasizing that Governor Abiodun praised Ogun residents, particularly the youth, for avoiding violent protests and behaving admirably.

The governor reassured the public of his administration’s commitment to their welfare.

The statement also accused certain political opponents of President Bola Tinubu of misrepresenting the governor’s remarks and using the protest to further their own agendas.

It stressed that Governor Abiodun respects the protesters and has repeatedly acknowledged their concerns.
