    Governor Buni Eases Curfew Amid Improved Security in Yobe

    Following a significant improvement in the security situation in Potiskum, Gashua, and Nguru, Yobe, Governor Mai Mala Buni has approved a reduction of the curfew in these towns by five hours.

    This was disclosed in a statement issued in Damaturu on Saturday by Retired Brigadier-General Dahiru Abdulsalam, Special Advisor to the Governor on Security Matters.

    “The curfew is now relaxed from noon to 5 pm to enable people to undertake lawful activities with effect from Sunday,” he said.

    While commending security agencies for their efforts in restoring peace to the area, the governor urged them “to remain vigilant and prevent any breakdown of law and order during the relaxed curfew hours.”

    He gave the residents strict instructions to work with security guards and report any questionable activity.

    He gave the people assurances about the government’s ongoing dedication to protecting everyone’s safety and wellbeing.
