Chelsea and Arsenal have both decided to exit the competition to sign Victor Osimhen, according to Italian transfer expert Ciro Troise, as reported by CalcioNapoli24.
Chelsea, initially interested in the Nigerian striker, faced obstacles due to his substantial release clause, which stalled their efforts.
However, Chelsea’s plan to use Romelu Lukaku as part of the deal fell through, leading them to seek alternative targets like Atletico Madrid’s Samu Omorodion.
Arsenal also opted out, following Chelsea’s lead. Troise mentioned that despite periodic interest, PSG has not offered more than €70 million and has yet to sell Kolo Muani. Both Chelsea and Arsenal have now withdrawn from the negotiations.
Italian sources indicate that Napoli’s new manager, Antonio Conte, prefers Romelu Lukaku for the upcoming season, further influencing the shift in transfer dynamics.
