Tinubu Unveils 20 Locally Made CNG Buses at the Presidential Villa

In a groundbreaking move, President Bola Tinubu has commissioned the first batch of 20 Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) buses at the Presidential Villa in Abuja. Produced by Innoson Motors, these locally made buses are set to transform transportation in the Federal Capital Territory.

Tinubu took a break from the Federal Executive Council meeting to launch the buses, which were driven to the Presidential Villa’s forecourt.

This initiative is part of the government’s response to organized labor’s demands following the fuel subsidy removal on May 29, 2023.

Innoson Motors’ Chairman and CEO, Chief Innocent Chukwuma, met with Tinubu last week, paving the way for this milestone. The provision of CNG buses is expected to ease transportation woes in Abuja and beyond.

This development showcases the potential of local manufacturing and innovation in addressing Nigeria’s transportation challenges.

The government is optimistic about the impact of these buses, and this move marks a significant step towards a more sustainable and efficient transportation system.
