Police confirm killing of Katsina Governor’s aide

The Katsina State Police Command has confirmed the death of Sanusi Gyaza, an aide to Governor Dikko Radda, who was killed in an incident in the state.

In a phone conversation on Sunday, the command’s public relations officer, Abubakar Sadiq, confirmed to the Punch that it was aware of the incident, saying, “Yes, we are aware and we are on top of the situation.”

Gyaza was murdered by terrorists at his home in the state’s Gyaza community within the Kankia Local Government Area.

His wife was also reportedly killed in the incident, which happened late on Friday.

According to the report, Gyaza was the previous chairman of the Kankia LG branch of the Nigeria Union of Teachers.
It is said that the attackers who broke into his house to carry out the attack were specifically aiming for him.

The community was left in shock and mourning when it was reported that the terrorists kidnapped his other wife during the raid.

The tragic event has increased worries about the state’s growing insecurity because hoodlum activity—including kidnappings and killings—has become more commonplace there.
