Grammy-winning Afrobeats star Wizkid revealed that if his music career hadn’t taken off, he would have pursued a career in football.
The Nigerian artist expressed his deep love for the sport and his appreciation for the discipline it requires.
Reflecting on his time playing for his school’s football team, Wizkid admitted that his impatience and dislike for early morning training sessions ultimately pushed him towards music.
“If I wasn’t into music, I’d be playing football. I’m pretty good at it—I was on my school team,” he shared. Despite shifting his focus to music, Wizkid maintains a strong respect for the demands of football.
In addition to discussing his passion for football, Wizkid also mentioned his unique approach to security. He chooses not to travel with bodyguards, relying instead on his close-knit management team, whom he views as family.
