Al-Hikmah University Denies Police Claim Regarding Female Student’s Corpse in Kwara

The management of Al-Hikmah University in Ilorin, Kwara State, has denied reports linking the institution to the discovery of a female corpse at a refuse dump site, refuting claims that the deceased was a student of the university.

In a statement issued on Wednesday by the university’s Information Officer, Femi Afolayan, the institution responded to a report released by the Kwara State Police Command on Tuesday.

The statement clarified that the reference to Al-Hikmah University in the police report was based on information provided by the suspect, who allegedly used the university’s name to deceive the victim.

“Al-Hikmah University has taken note of a press release signed by the Public Relations Officer of the Kwara State Command of the Nigeria Police, DSP Toun Ejire-Adeyemi, on behalf of the state Commissioner of Police, CP Victor Olaiya, regarding this matter,” the statement reads.

The university further emphasized that its students were not involved in any party as claimed by the suspect and reassured parents, guardians, and the university community of the safety of all students during their time on campus.
