The Emir of Ningi, Alhaji Yunusa Muhammadu Dan Yaya, has passed away at the age of 88. The first-class Bauchi Emir died on Sunday morning in Kano, two days after returning from a medical trip to Saudi Arabia.
The Secretary of the Palace, Usman Sule, confirmed the Emir’s death in a statement. Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed expressed profound grief, highlighting the Emir’s contributions to peace, unity, and development in the Ningi Emirate and the state.
The funeral rites will take place at 4:00 p.m. today at the Ningi Emirate Palace. Emir Dan Yaya, who was installed as Emir in 1978, will be remembered for his significant roles in various organizations and his dedication to upholding tradition and Islamic values.
