BREAKING: Tinubu appoints New DGs for NIA, DSS

In a bold move to revamp Nigeria’s intelligence landscape, President Bola Tinubu has appointed new Directors-General for the National Intelligence Agency (NIA) and the Department of State Security Services (DSS).

Ambassador Mohammed Mohammed, a seasoned foreign service veteran, takes the helm at NIA, bringing his wealth of experience from various roles, including his tenure as head of the Nigerian mission to Libya.

Adeola Oluwatosin Ajayi, a rising star in the DSS, assumes the top spot, leveraging his extensive experience as Assistant Director-General and State Director in multiple states.

These appointments follow the resignation of the previous chiefs and mark a new era for the agencies. President Tinubu charges the new leaders to reposition the agencies for enhanced performance, tackle security challenges through collaboration, and align with the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA).

The President thanks the outgoing Directors-General of the two pivotal intelligence agencies for their services to the nation while wishing them success in their future endeavours.
