The Federal Ministry of Housing and Urban Development has begun the construction of 500 housing units in Kano State, under the banner of Renewed Hope Estate.
This development, situated in Lambu village within Tofa Local Government Area, will feature a variety of residential options including 2-bedroom, 1-bedroom, and 3-bedroom semi-detached bungalows.
During a site visit, Ahmed Musa Dangiwa, the Minister of Housing and Urban Development, expressed dissatisfaction with the current progress of the project.
He revealed that the pace of work was not meeting expectations and warned the contractor of potential repercussions if significant improvements were not made.
Dangiwa stressed that the project should be substantially advanced by the next visit, with a clear directive to either expedite the work or face reassignment of the unfinished portions to other contractors.
In response, Haruna Lawal, the Project Manager representing the contractor, committed to accelerating the project’s progress and ensuring that the deadline is met, with a completion target set for the end of the year.
