Yobe Man Arrested for Stabbing Neighbour to Death Over Alleged Affair with Wife
A 40-year-old man identified as Yau Ari Dawa has been arrested by the Yobe State Police Command for allegedly stabbing his neighbour to death over a suspected extramarital affair involving his wife.
The tragic incident occurred around 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday in Fulameri Village, where Dawa reportedly confronted 35-year-old Mallam Faji Gana, accusing him of having an illicit relationship with his 25-year-old wife, Noja Yau.
Eyewitnesses told Zagazola Makama that the confrontation escalated into a violent altercation, during which Dawa allegedly stabbed Gana in the abdomen with a knife.
A nearby resident, alarmed by the commotion, quickly alerted the authorities. Gana was rushed to the Specialist Hospital in Geidam, but was pronounced dead on arrival by medical personnel.
Following the incident, Dawa was apprehended by police officers and is currently in custody.
Police sources confirmed that the case will be handed over to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation and possible prosecution.
