Senator Natasha Denied Access to Senate Chambers, after Resumption efforts
Security operatives on Monday, July 22, locked the chamber doors of the National Assembly, preventing Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan from entering the Senate floor as plenary resumed.
Akpoti-Uduaghan, determined to resume her legislative duties following a court ruling directing the Senate to consider her recall, arrived at the National Assembly complex today.
In a video footage shared by Channels TV, her convoy was stopped at the entrance by security personnel, forcing her to disembark and proceed on foot into the premises, accompanied by her supporters, including prominent activist Aisha Yesufu.
Despite making her way into the complex, the Senator representing Kogi Central was blocked at the doors to the Senate chamber, which had been locked by security agents.
The move barred her from participating in plenary, even as she maintained that the court’s decision affirmed her right to return to her seat.
