    FG Declares Friday Public Holiday for Eid-ul-Mawlid

    The Federal Government has declared Friday, September 5, 2025, a public holiday in commemoration of Eid-ul-Mawlid, the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).

    In a statement issued on Wednesday, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, conveyed the announcement on behalf of the Minister. The statement congratulated Muslims in Nigeria and across the world, urging them to emulate the Prophet’s exemplary virtues of peace, love, humility, tolerance, and compassion.

     

    It further appealed to Nigerians of all faiths to use the occasion to pray for peace, security, and stability in the country, while supporting the government’s efforts to promote national unity and sustainable development.

     

    The Minister of Interior wished Muslims a joyous and peaceful Eid-ul-Mawlid celebration.
