    FMAFS Inaugurates New ASCSN Executives to Enhance Staff Welfare

    The Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security has inaugurated the newly elected Executive Committee of the Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria, FMAFS Chapter, to enhance staff welfare and drive efficient service delivery towards achieving food security.

    Speaking during the Inauguration ceremony at the Minister’s conference room in Abuja, recently, the Permanent Secretary, Dr. Marcus Olaniyi Ogunbiyi, represented by the Director, Federal Department of Agriculture (FDA), Mr. Bukar Musa stated that the occasion marked a significant transition in the Association’s leadership, reinforced the Ministry’s commitment to staff welfare and effective service delivery in achieving food security.

    Dr. Ogunbiyi noted that the unveiling of the new executives was not only a moment of transition but also an opportunity to reflect on the positive contributions of the outgoing leadership.

    “We are gathered to usher in a new leadership while recognizing the dedication, sacrifices, and achievements of those who have served the Association with commitment and distinction.” He said

    According to him, ‘’the relevance of the event’s theme, Union Leadership and Social Movements: Blending the Past with the Present for a Greater Future, underscores the need to build on past successes while embracing innovative approaches to strengthen unionism and promote responsible leadership.”

    He lauded the outgoing executives for their selfless service, stating that their contributions have laid a solid foundation for the continued growth of the Association.

    The Permanent Secretary therefore charged the newly elected executives to lead with integrity, vision, and dedication as well as build on the achievements of their predecessors.

    In her remarks, the Director, Human Resources Management, Mrs. Modupe Adebayo, represented by the Deputy Director, Appointment and Promotion, Mrs. Fatoki Adebukola, applauded the Ministry’s management for its continued support to the Union and urged the new executives to uphold transparency, fairness, and accountability in the discharge of their duties.

    In his acceptance speech, the newly elected Chairman, ASCSN, FMAFS Chapter, Comrade Idachaba Daniel Ojonimi, pledged that ‘’his administration would leave ASCSN-FMAFS stronger, more respected, and more responsive than we met it’’.

    Comrade Ojonimi assured members that the new leadership would work assiduously with other stakeholders to strengthen the Association and make it more responsive to members’ needs.

    A statement by Ogbuagu Chika, Principal Information Officer on behalf of the Ministry’s Head of Information disclosed thaf the highlight of the event was the presentation of awards to outgoing executive members in recognition of their outstanding contributions to the Association.
