The Legal Practitioners’ Privileges Committee (LPPC), led by Chief Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, has approved the promotion of 87 lawyers to the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria.
The swearing-in ceremony for these newly designated senior advocates will be held on Monday, September 30, 2024.
In its recent 164th plenary session, the LPPC reviewed and dismissed five petitions against some of the applicants, finding them to be without merit.
Among those awarded the rank are Monday Ubani, former Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association Section on Public Interest and Development Law (NBA-SPIDEL), Deremi Oguntoye, Chukwudi Enebeli, Wendy Kuku, and Mofesomo Tayo-Oyetibo. Additionally, Prof. Ganiu Adeyemi is the sole academic among the successful candidates.
