Five months and two days after the birth of twins, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, officially welcomed the infants into his palace in Ile-Ife, Osun State, on Sunday.
The twins, born to Olori Tobiloba Ogunwusi, had been living outside the palace since their arrival.
The Ooni had first announced the birth of a boy and a girl on March 16, 2024, through his Facebook page, expressing gratitude and joy over the new additions to the royal family.
A photograph accompanying the announcement featured the Ooni and Olori Tobiloba.
On Sunday, a live broadcast on the Facebook page of the Ooni’s private secretary, Adetoyese Adewale, showcased the ceremonial entrance of Olori Tobiloba and the twins into the palace.
The event was marked by traditional drumming and dancing.
Key figures in the ceremony included the Obalufe of Ife, Oba Idowu Adediwura, and the Lowa of Ife, Oba Adekola Adeyeye, who were seen receiving the twins before presenting them to the Ooni.
The video captured the festive atmosphere, with traditional songs celebrating the monarch and the new additions, while guests enjoyed the event under canopies.
Earlier, other royal wives, including Olori Ashley and Olori Aishat, had congratulated the Ooni and the family, expressing their joy and best wishes for the twins.
